Good question! There's a lot of brush among the hills of Orange County, and a lot of it is a fire hazard that's simply left there. I think they spray it occassionally or do a controlled burn to prevent a major flare up wildfire like this, but apparently not soon enough. And we believe the fire was caused by an electrical issue, but once it sparked the brush, it went crazy, throwing embers into those homes and resulting in the massive neighborhood burn.
