I'm not sure if they had PMI, but it wouldn't be shocking if this home was purchased cash or largely cash through the sale of a prior property. You'd be surprised how many people in our area swoop in with 7- and 8-figure cash offers. Still, they should have fire insurance, so hopefully that makes them whole.
